Just Because...

These were taken in Puerto Vallarta when Liz Taylor and Richard Burton were filming Night of the Blue Iguana in 1962. You can really sense the incredible chemistry between them.  Their love affair was all about excess and it was always over-the-top glamorous. I'm not looking forward to going back to work today, would love to be transported back to the 60's and be having as much fun as them.

Over the summer, I read the book Furious Love: Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, and the Marriage of the Century by Sam Kashner and co-author Nancy Schoenberger.  It is a fun read and I could not put it down.  You may purchase it here.

"Love me, it is to your advantage"

A few weeks ago, I noticed a family friend wearing a beautiful pair of circular gold earrings with an inscription.   Written in greek, the earrings said "Love me, it is to your advantage".  After some internet research I was able to track down the name of the designer: New York City native Caroline Ellen.  Her jewelry is just what I love, understated and unique, but high-quality (every piece is made by hand.) She designs in 20 and 22 karat gold and gravitates towards the lesser- known semi-precious stones.  Below find some pieces from her collection:

         I love all her work, but am especially drawn to her engraved pieces, so romantic!
