Red and Blue.

I was going to do a post all about the color red in honor of Valentine's Day and all the red gowns we saw at the SAG Awards, but I decided to incorporate another color: blue!  I love the combination of red and blue, particularly a pale, almost grey blue with a orange-y red.  I reserve the standard red and blue for the 4th of July.  Below gaze upon some images conveying the many ways in which you can combine these two colors!

Love Sofia, love this movie, and love this dress!  This is the shade of blue I like to see with a red.

My younger brother picked out this scarf as a Christmas present from the Hermes store in Dallas.  Exquisite.

Leontine Linens.  They have the most beautiful monograms.

More Leontine.

If you only want a touch of red, this nail polish by Essie is a great choice.  Its called Lollipop and its a bright red that looks good on everyone.

The Whole Package.

I ran out to Neiman's this afternoon to pick up some more Jo Malone crème in Jasmine Mint, a new scent that has become my favorite.  Jo Malone creates wonderful potions that stand up well on their own, but my favorite part of the shopping experience is watching the product I purchase be carefully wrapped up and placed into the beautiful signature pale yellow box with black ribbon.  Packaging is so important and Jo Malone really turns buying one of their products into an event.  I doubt I would be such a devoted fan without those yellow boxes and shopping bags.  Enjoy some other beautiful packaging below.  Hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday afternoon!

Hermes 2.0

For as long as I can remember, my mother has collected and worn Hermes scarves and for me, they have always been the most beautiful and versatile accessory.  As a little girl, I always found Hermes to be a brand that epitomized elegance and sophistication, but I’ve come to realize that they are a perfect accessory for those with a more eclectic sense of style.  In recent years, Hermes has really stepped up its campaigns to show how it is a youthful brand as well as a classic one.

If you haven’t visited this site http://www.jaimemoncarre.com/, you should go immediately to find new, fun ways to wear your scarf.  The site follows a girl from Paris, NYC, Tokyo, and London around town wearing their Hermes scarves.   The Parisian is my favorite, so much so that after seeing this photo....

I tracked down that scarf in the silk, instead of the jersey silk one shown.  It is such a gorgeous mango color!

These Knotting Cards are slipped into your bag after a scarf purchase.

I received my first Hermes scarf a few years ago and I cherish it!  I chose a hot pink plisse scarf during my first foray into the world of Hermes.  I have received several more and marvel at how detailed they are.

During the past few months, Hermes has opened up temporary "Pop-up Shops" all over the world.  Here, the talented people at Hermes display their scarves in the most creative ways.  There are even scarf stylists on hand to show you new ways to wear your scarf.
